Milky Way Martini Cupcakes

Milky Way Martini Cupcakes

Happy Halloween! It’s the time of year where everyone has a bunch of candy laying around. Either from over preparing for trick-or-treaters, kids who went trick-or-treating, or you just plan to partake in all the post halloween candy sales that’ll be happening tomorrow. Candy abounds. These milky way martini cupcakes not only utilize that candy, but they give you a perfect way to unwind post halloween (by taking a shot of a milky way martini) These cupcakes aren’t meant for kids, since they’re pretty alcoholic. There’s a cup of alcohol…

Smores Scones

Smores Scones

It’s September which means for some, cooler camping season has started. Which means smores! I never camped as a kid, but fall meant bonfires and bonfires meant smores. So I whipped together some smore scones to fill my life with smore goodness without the outdoor bugs. My boyfriend actually loves camping and will be making me camp soon, so out into the world of bugs I go. I’m really excited about it though. Four days cut off from work emails and the internet and computers. It’ll be a good change…

Chocolate Blueberry Cookies

Chocolate Blueberry Cookies

As berry season winds to a close – and pumpkin, apple, pear, cinnamon, nutmeg season starts to creep up on us, I thought I’d post one last farmer’s market berry recipe. I actually made chocolate blueberry cookies about two months ago but I’ve been hoarding the recipe. But I’m very excited to share them now. These remind me of those brookside chocolate covered blueberry things, which if I’m perfectly honest are a weakness of mine and once a bag is opened I’ll eat the whole thing in one go. These cookies…

Raspberry Chocolate Chip Bread

Raspberry Chocolate Chip Bread

I went down to Florida on for 4th of July weekend to visit my mom, and while I was there I baked. I baked blueberry bread then I made this raspberry chocolate chip bread. I love chocolate raspberry. Love it. It’s one of my favorite flavors in the world.  I love it more than I love chocolate banana and everyone knows how much I love chocolate banana. This chocolate raspberry bread is the perfect marriage of chocolate and raspberry. It’s super moist due to the brown sugar, and the raspberries bring…

Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

Cherry season continues! This time I took one out of the book of my favorite store in Michigan: Cherry Republic. They make these delicious “boomchunka” cookies. They’re oatmeal cookies with dried cherries and chocolate chunks. I happened to get a package of dried cherries mailed to me for my birthday so I wanted to replicate them in the form of these chocolate cherry oatmeal cookies. These turned out deliciously. Also hearty. The ratio of oats to flour is 2:1 so they’re oaty, chocolatey, and cherry-y. They’re deliciously chewy, not super…

Chocolate Cherry Banana Muffins

Chocolate Cherry Banana Muffins

So sometimes it’s cherry season and you want just to make like, a super fruity, flavorful, but really really easy muffin. That’s this. These chocolate cherry banana muffins are packed full of fruit. Plus, you make them in one bowl. Basically just mix everything in a bowl, put in muffin tray and bake. These are honestly surprisingly chocolatey. I was going for a subtle chocolate when I was making it, but I’m not going to fight what the chocolate wants to be (if you do though just take out 2…

Chocolate Chip Banana Cookies – with the perfect hint of cinnamon

Chocolate Chip Banana Cookies – with the perfect hint of cinnamon

These look just like normal chocolate chip cookies don’t they? They are so much more than that. As I mentioned in my last banana cookie post, baking with bananas is a challenge. I actually ended up coming up with these chocolate chip banana cookies while I was working on that double chocolate banana recipe, because I just wasn’t sure they were going to come together and I wanted a back up. And I may like these a little more. I love cinnamon. I love cinnamon and banana. I love cinnamon…

Baileys Twinkies

Baileys Twinkies

So the other day, someone brought Twinkies into the office and someone suggested that I make Baileys Twinkies. So here we are. I will say, it took a long time to develop this recipe and I’ve basically been covered in chocolate for two weeks straight, so despite the fact that these really are delicious, this post may not be super enthusiastic about how delicious these are. I swear they are delicious, and despite having a lot of steps, they come together fairly quickly. Don’t be intimidated by them. If you’re…

Double Chocolate Banana Cookies

Double Chocolate Banana Cookies

My favorite flavor combination in the world is chocolate and bananas. Chocolate banana smoothie? Yes. Chocolate banana ice cream? Bring it on. Chocolate banana cake? Give me a fork. I love it. So, with three overripe bananas in my freezer, I decided to make some chocolate banana cookies. I don’t know if you know this about banana, but it can do some weird things to your recipes – primarily making cookies more bready/muffiny. And that’s no good for cookies. A bready, muffiny cookie is just not what I’m looking for….
