April Stitch Fix Review

Hi everyone! I’ll be posting a really delicious recipe Wednesday for Mimosa Scones! – I honestly did not expect these too turn out so good so I’m excited to share it with you all! – but in the mean time, my April Stitch Fix has arrived and it is fabulously springy. I didn’t get two in March as intended because I went to NYC and had to postpone my last box, but I’m excited for two this month!

What is stitch fix? It’s a box of 5 items (clothes, accessories, shoes!), picked personally for you by your stylist. You fill out a style profile, pin some things on pinterest, and get a box full of amazing clothes sent right to your door – once every 2-3 weeks, once a month, once every two months, or however frequently you want!. There’s a $20 styling fee that gets waived if you purchase anything, and if you keep all 5 items in your box, you get 25% off. You can even tell your stylist about things you’re looking for, or events you have coming up, before your box is styled so they can cater it towards that!

My stylist is Margaret and she is fabulous and I was lucky enough to get two fabulous fixes from her this month. My second fix (first is below!), I asked for shorts and sandals and some work clothes and here’s what she sent over:

Box

Can I just say I am LOVING spring and colors. I loved all the winter stuff I got, but I’m so glad to have more color in my life!

Note

So much color! So many options! Let’s get started!

jasmyn lace up gladiator sandals

jasmyn lace up gladiator sandals

So these are so cute! I love the style, and I own nothing like them because I basically own only ballet flats. I loved them instantly, but not knowing how exactly to lace them (do I bow them? in front? behind? I didn’t know) so I googled it. I ended up finding a camel colored suede pair (the exact same ones, same brand and everything just different color) for 25% off on nordstrom because they were price matching something. So I took advantage of the deal and got these in a darker brown.

I’m so happy to have gotten these in my box because I never would have purchased them otherwise and I’d be missing out on some awesome gladiator sandals.

Verdict: Basically kept

Alright, so, I got rid of all but like, one pair of shorts last summer because they were all from like 9th grade and needed to go. So I was so excited to see these fabulous shorts. I LOVE the pattern and the color. I love the length. I love the material, because while they say linen they’re nice and sturdy.

They’re perfect for a totally casual summer day in the south!

Verdict: Kept!

Stacey Scallop Hem Cut-Out Detail Skirt

Stacey Scallop Hem Cut-Out Detail Skirt

This skirt has the power to make me look super classy and cute when paired with basically any shirt. Seriously. The red band’s adorable and the length is good (maybe a little longer would be better for work but it’s not terrible) and it’s so flattering.

Unfortunately it’s about half a size too small. Which is sad, but probably good because when I wake up and go to work I don’t normally ever feel like getting cuted up with a skirt. So this skirt and all it’s powers would have gone to waste on me.

Verdict: Returned

Jenson Embroidery Detail Top

Jenson Embroidery Detail Top

I love the color of this top, I love the length and I love the detail around the neck. U just unfortunately didn’t love the way it fell. It was like it flared at the hips and it was more sheer than I liked, so I didn’t feel comfortable styling it with just a pair of pants.

But look at it with the skirt and paired with my heels from last fix. So cute! I just can’t justify buying something (even if it is only $44) that I can only wear tucked in.

Verdict: Returned

Bastille Tulip Sleeve Blouse

I had a some of the same issues with this top that I did the other. It basically just didn’t fall right on me. There was no waist cinching and the way the sleeves fell it kind of made my proportions feel off. But again, this was all fixed with the skirt.

But, as with the other shirt, I can’t keep a top I can only wear tucked in. P.S. that adorable tree branch necklace? You can find it here.

Verdict: Returned.

Overall, great fix! I knew going into it when I asked for work shirts that it’d be challenging. I’m super picky with anything that’s not just throw on casual, so dresses, work shirts, etc take forever for me to buy. But I love the shorts and sandals! And since it’s currently 84 out, they came at the perfect time!

Early April Fix!

This time I asked her just to do her thing and surprise me and she did amazing. Let’s start with her note:

SHOES!

Tegan Peep-Toe Mules

Tegan Peep-Toe Mules

Honestly, I was beyond skeptical about these. I basically live in flats, and these are a hefty heel. Plus they’re $140. $140. I think my heart stopped a little. But then I put them on. These things are comfortable. They’re super cute and I can walk in them. I love the wood heel and they’re suede. Basically, I fell in love with them.

Verdict: Kept

Bowie Solid Dolman Sleeve Top and Kut From the Kloth Denna Jeans

Bowie Solid Dolman Sleeve Top and Kut From the Kloth Denna Jeans

Let’s start with the pants!  I want to love these. I’ve always wanted to be a girl who could pull off white pants. But these were a little tighter than standard kut from the kloth denna jeans. The pockets were showing and they were just a bit too tight for me. I didn’t feel like I was pulling them off. But the outfit all together looked as wonderful as Margaret said.

Cuffed with the shoes! I did end up keeping these though. I wanted the buy 5 discount, and I knew someone who would snag them up.

Verdict: Kept for someone else – $78

Let’s move on to this shirt:

Bowie Solid Dolman Sleeve Top

Again, I don’t 100% buy dolmans as very flattering on me. But this color is amazing. It’s a little greener than the picture shows and it just really does look great against my skin tone. A girl at work asked me if I went outside because “I look tanner” the day I wore it (I had not been outside since the last time she saw me). Plus, ti’s a nice looking shirt. I feel really comfortable wearing it to work and not feeling too casual.Bowie Solid Dolman Sleeve Top

Verdict: Kept! – $58

Leavenworth Sleeveless Top

Leavenworth Sleeveless Top

First let’s look at this outfit, because I just bought these mint jeans from Kut from the Kloth and they go so great with this top, and these shoes (they may not, I’m a terrible dresser but I’m a fan!) But this shirt is so cute! I love the springy pinks and mints, and the gathering up top.Tank

I normally don’t wear sleeveless (I know, I live in Memphis and don’t go sleeveless! But the office I work in is 60F at all time so I bundle up for work. I will totally wear this under a big cardigan though!

Verdict: Kept – $48

Mattie Crossback Maxi Dress

Mattie Crossback Maxi Dress

Ok, Margaret didn’t even mention this dress in her note, and it’s probably my favorite thing in the box. It looks like a nice maxi dress from the front and then boom:

Mattie Crossback Maxi Dress

It’s got a great criss cross back. I love this. It hits at just the right spot and is really flattering.

Mattie Crossback Maxi DressIt really makes this dress extra special.

Verdict: Kept kept kept – $78

Overall I loved the fix! I got some new things I wouldn’t have picked up on my own (that dress, the shoes, the tank!) and I got the buy 5 discount!
